The Gift of Giving Project is more than just a charity…it’s a grassroots movement! Led by the students, teachers and parents of North Hollywood High School.
Our mission is to give hope to needy children in Nairobi, Kenya by providing donated items to the local orphanages and schools and provide a source of education for the local community.
Simply put, we have 2 goals:
- Purchase and fill a 40’ft shipping container with donated items from our community. Transport the container full of donations from Los Angeles to Nairobi, Kenya. (So far we have collected over 15,000 books). Donated items will be distributed among the orphanages and schools.
- Build a community library out of the shipping container. The library will be located at the Joy Divine Children’s Centre in Nairobi and will be available to the local orphanages, schools, and the surrounding communities.
